In a highly anticipated Group C match, Nigeria will host South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday night.

This fixture headlines the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, promising a thrilling encounter as both teams vie for a crucial three points.

Rwanda currently leads Group C with four points after two matches, but Nigeria and South Africa are determined to challenge for the top spot.

South Africa, known as Bafana Bafana, began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Benin in Durban but were surprised by a 2-0 defeat to Rwanda in Butare.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been held to consecutive 1-1 draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, leaving them in third place with two points.

Elsewhere in the qualifiers, African champions Ivory Coast face Gabon in a top-of-the-table clash in Group F at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo.

These matches set the stage for an action-packed round of World Cup qualifiers as teams across Africa compete for a place in the 2026 tournament.
