Nigerian Defence Academy Cadets Make History at Royal Marines Training Centre in UK

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has reached a historic milestone as two of its cadets, 2nd Lieutenants T.T. Eze and I. Suleiman, became the first Nigerian Army (NA) officers to complete the prestigious Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) program in Lympstone, United Kingdom.

The rigorous training, known for its physical and mental demands, is considered one of the toughest military programs globally. The duo’s successful completion underscores their exceptional resilience and marks a significant achievement for the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The Commandant of the NDA, Major General John Ochai, attended the passing-out parade, where the cadets were formally commissioned into the Nigerian Army. Major General Ochai lauded their accomplishment as a testament to the NDA’s high standards and commitment to excellence in military training.

The event also served as a platform for collaboration between the Nigerian Army and its British counterparts. Major General Ochai held discussions with Colonel G.A. Atherton, the Commandant of CTCRM, and General Gwyn Jenkins, the Commander General of the Royal Marines.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Brigadier General M.H.B. Manu, Nigeria’s Defence Adviser in the UK; Brigadier General O.A. Aw
