Renowned Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has shared a lighthearted and entertaining account of how he met and wooed his wife, Busola.
In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, Timi Dakolo reminisced about the couple’s chance encounter at a church event. He recalled being drawn to Busola’s captivating presence, despite her initial reserved demeanor.
Timi Dakolo humorously recounted how he mustered the courage to approach Busola, asking her to be his date to a church ball. He chuckled as he remembered how Busola attempted to keep their relationship platonic, but he was determined to win her heart.
The singer also fondly remembered how Busola was initially embarrassed by the car he won after emerging victorious in the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007, a branded Picanto.
Timi Dakolo laughingly recalled, “One day I went to pick her up in my picanto that I won from Nigerian idol, and she used to tell me to park in a corner. I laughed and I told her that I would shock her one day, and not to look down on me, and I did.”
The couple tied the knot in 2012 and have since welcomed three beautiful children together.
