X users have donated N1.3 million to a Nigerian couple, the Olumuyiwas, who recently welcomed triplets—two girls and a boy.

This generous response came hours after Olumuyiwa Egunjobi expressed his distress on X about his inability to support his wife and the newborns.

It is worth noting that Nigerians on social media had also previously donated over N15 million to a man whose wife gave birth to quadruplets.

Olumuyiwa’s plea on X quickly gained traction. In a viral tweet, he shared photos of himself, his wife, and their triplets, mentioning that they were born at Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta.

The civil servant explained that he had already covered significant hospital bills, medications, and other expenses during their hospital stay. However, he was struggling to provide for the new mother and the triplets going forward. He humbly asked for financial assistance and received it. His initial tweet read: “Dear Fellow Nigerians, “My name is Olumuyiwa. I work with the Federal Civil Service at the Federal Secretariat Complex Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta Ogun State. “Recently, my wife gave birth to a beautiful set of triplets – two girls and a boy on July 22, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Hospital…”

In a subsequent tweet, Olumuyiwa showed his wife’s account balance, revealing the N1.3 million they had received so far.

The grateful husband thanked Nigerians for their swift support. He said: “Within 24 hours, we received a total sum of 1.3M from the Twitter Family. “We say a big thank you to everyone who has shown us love through money gifts, congratulatory messages, and prayers. ”Thank you all, God bless.”
