NLC Considers Minimum Wage Review Amid Rising Cost of Living
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is evaluating a fresh assessment of the minimum wage due to the increasing cost of living. President Joe Ajaero announced this during the 8th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), highlighting the need for the federal government to recommission the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries.
Ajaero emphasized the importance of organized labor in challenging neoliberal forces and advocating for fair working conditions. He asserted that collective action is essential to combat rising living costs and protect the welfare of healthcare workers. The NLC is determined to engage actively with the government to fulfill its commitments and ensure the financial well-being of workers across Nigeria.
