Nollywood actress Rita Edochie Condemns Fake Death Rumors About Imo State Born Actor, Osita Iheme and Other Celebrities.

Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has spoken out against the growing trend of fake death rumors about Nigerian celebrities, following recent claims that her colleague Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, had passed away.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Rita expressed outrage over the repeated false news about Iheme, which many social media users believed and mourned. She labeled the behavior as madness, criticizing bloggers and content creators who spread such baseless claims for traffic and engagement.

“This rumor has come up before, and it’s trending again,” she wrote. “Pictures of my great son and veteran colleague, Osita Iheme, trended with captions that he was dead. Crazy netizens believed the fake gist and began commenting RIP.”

The actress highlighted how social media, while beneficial for youth empowerment, has caused significant harm by promoting character defamation and spreading false news about celebrities. She also recalled being a victim of similar rumors alongside her husband, veteran actor Pete Edochie.

Rita urged bloggers to stop wishing untimely death on celebrities for personal gain, calling the practice barbaric and harmful. “You don’t have to grow your pages through death wishes on innocent people. If we all die today as celebrities, who will you watch?” she questioned.

She concluded by calling for accountability and stricter measures to curb the spread of such damaging rumors.

More than 100 immigrants, allegedly in the US illegally, were detained in Colorado Springs after an overnight raid at an underground nightclub in a strip mall.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Rocky Mountain Division led a multi-agency operation early Sunday morning and arrested 114 illegal immigrants at the venue that contained more than 200 people inside.

Authorities uncovered drugs, including pink cocaine, as well as evidence of prostitution and multiple firearms during the operation, according to the DEA.

“What was happening inside was significant drug trafficking, prostitution, crimes of violence,” Jonathan C. Pullen, the Special Agent in Charge at the DEA Rocky Mountain Division, said at a news conference Sunday . “We seized a number of guns in there.”

“A big Raid last night on some of the worst people illegally in our Country — Drug Dealers, Murderers, and other Violent Criminals, of all shapes and sizes, and Judges don’t want to send them back to where they came from,” Trump wrote in the post. “If we don’t win this battle at the Supreme Court, our Country, as we know it, is FINISHED! It will be a Crime ridden MESS. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department were also involved in the operation.
