NOTABLE HAZARD AND URGENT NEED TO AVERT DANGER
The attached pictures show the section of Imo River bridge close to IMSU college of Engineering, along the ever busy Owerri-Okigwe Road in Umuna, Onuimo LGA of Imo State.
A look at it shows that the rails indicating that it’s a bridge has pulled out and it’s completely open which exposes motorists to falling into the Imo River which is very deep above ground level, in the event of any error in driving or loss of control.
Ekwutosblog gathered that the rail of the bridge was knocked down by a heavy duty vehicle which ran into the River months back but nothing has been done about the situation since then.
