Imo State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers Hon Comr Dr Samuel Udeh JP FCAI (Eze Umuokorobia) called on members of the union to resist the temptation of joining in the protest in the State.

Hon Udeh made this call at the state secretariat of the union, in an emergency meeting of state executive council (SEC) of the union.

Chief Sam said, “we are not against protest, we know it is enshrined in the Nigeria constitution for peaceful demonstration. But there’s a process to follow”

He further stated that, the risk and possibility of the protest being highjacked by miscreants and hoodlums who may want to use it to perpetrate evil and create chaos, so as to cause havoc in the State.

We are not disputing the fact that there is hunger and hardship in the land, but we must be careful not to allow those with evil motions and intention to destroy lives and properties in the State to succeed.

To this end, the union has directed their members across the State to shun the protest in the State.

Some of the members of the SEC who reacted at the meeting, throws support to the decision of the leadership of the union and assured of relating the decision down to the drivers and other members of the union at their various parks in the State.
