Upon being received by the honourable commissioner, Chief Samuel Udeh congratulated the brilliant commissioner for his reassignment as the commissioner for transport in the State.
Hon Udeh who was accompanied by the members of State Adminstrative Council (SAC) applauded the State Governor His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for his carefully selection of men and women of high esteem with proven track records to join hands with him in achieving his wonderful dream of a better and prosperous Imo State.

Amb Sam informed the commissioner about the rebranded image of the union under his leadership as the State Chairman and assured the honourable commissioner Dr Abazu of the union cooperation and partnership with his office to bring reform in the transport sector, more especially in the road transport system.
Dr Chika Abazu welcomed the members of the national union of road transport workers and expressed joy for their visit.
He said, for me national union is a very noble profession, not minding how they are seen or the general wrong believe about the union.
He further said; your visit is very emotional because it reminds me of old memories of my late father who was a member of the national union,as being owner of tipers applying from Akokwa to Orlu.
I am a product of national union he stated.
Dr Abazu who was formerly assigned to commerce and industry, brought reform to the ministry that made the Executive Governor of Imo State Sen Hope Uzodimma to reassigned him to the transport sector and urged him to replicate same transformation at his former ministry to transport sector in the State.
He continued, i am aware of some of these challenges you have mentioned earlier,i understood national union very well, based on my experience then through my father’s involvement in transport system and as a member of the national union.
He stated, i am a medical doctor, and have worked in the presidency for more than 20yrs as a director.
A candidate of All Progressives Congress for federal house of representative for Ideato Federal Constituency, I contested against Ikenga Ugochinyere at the last election, but appell court said otherwise.
I was invited by His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma to come and contribute my quota in the development of our dear State Imo. I was formerly assigned to commerce and industry, which i brought some level of reform in the ministry within a very short stay in the ministry, and then reassigned to transport ministry to replicate same transformation in the transport sector.
My prayer is that the reform agenda i have backed upon will bring positive result to transport sector.
There is no economy that can run without good transport network, the movement from one point to another is the key thing for business, commerce and development, and when that movement is truncated it affects the economy.
Road transport system is the engine room that drives economy of the State, your are an integral part of that chain that will drive the State economy.
So,i am here to work with you and together build our State toward ideas of the Governor of Imo State Sen Hope Uzodimma.
Transport sector is one of the important sector that contributes in building the economy of a State.
Honourable Dr Chika assured the road transport workers in the State of working in tandem with the union, and agreed to partner with the union and reform the sector to the benefits and good of all Imolites.
Chief Abazu commended the State Governor Sen Hope Uzodimma for his wonderful performances, especially in construction of good and quality road network in the State, he pointed some of the good roads in the State, and described the project as signature projects of the Governor.
He said construction of good roads is one step at a time, as other areas that needs attention of the government on bad roads, will surely be attended to, just like a flyover bridge project is currently ongoing at Assumpta Catholic church axis.
He again welcomed the members of the union, and assured of having a good synergy with the transport workers in the State.
My doors are always wide open for interactions and sharing of ideas that will make the transport sector more better for investors and easy movement from one place to another.
Honourable commissioner concluded by saying ” In me you have an ally to work with”
” I have come to make you work more easier”
