Former Super Eagles player and Olympic gold medalist Tijani Babangida was involved in a car accident* that claimed the life of his younger brother, Ibrahim.

Tijani Babangida and his wife are currently hospitalized after the accident, which occurred on the Kaduna-Zaria Road.

Ibrahim Babangida, who was 47 years old, died on the spot from the accident.

Tijani Babangida is currently admitted at Shika Hospital in Zaria, where he is receiving treatment and is conscious.

The late Ibrahim was a retired footballer who was a member of the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning Golden Eagles squad in Japan.
