Ooni of Ife Honors Oluremi Tinubu with Golden Statue and Landmark Donations
In a majestic ceremony held at Obafemi Awolowo University in Osun State, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, unveiled a stunning golden statue of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday. This tribute was part of a larger donation that included a 2.7km Senator Oluremi Tinubu Way, a grand pavilion, and a monument on the university campus, all bearing her name.
The Ooni praised Oluremi Tinubu’s exceptional leadership, commitment to education, women’s empowerment, and national unity. He highlighted the significance of the hostel and pavilion, noting that they represent her efforts to create inclusive spaces for learning and growth.
In response, Mrs. Tinubu pledged a generous N1 billion donation to support the university’s horticultural landscaping initiatives.
