Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will stay with Serie A club Napoli after negotiations with Premier League side Chelsea broke down before the summer transfer deadline.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that despite a new proposal from Chelsea, the two clubs failed to reach an agreement.
Romano also reported that Napoli had reached a deal with Saudi club Al Ahli for Osimhen’s transfer, worth €75/80m, but the move was contingent on Chelsea’s offer.
With the Chelsea deal off the table, Osimhen will remain at Napoli but his relationship with the club is reportedly strained.
The 24-year-old African Footballer of the Year will not be part of Napoli’s first-team squad if no new developments arise in the next three days.
Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, but for now, he’s staying put at Napoli.
