The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, paid a visit to the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday. The meeting took place at Buhari’s residence in Daura, located in Katsina State.
Ahmad Bashir, a former media aide to the ex-president, shared details of the visit on X (formerly Twitter), posting about the occasion along with photos of the event. Bashir noted that during his time in Daura, Oba Ogunwusi also made a visit to the palace of the 60th Emir of Daura, HRH Faruk Umar Faruk. The former president, Muhammadu Buhari, accompanied the Ooni during this part of the visit.
Bashir’s post read: “Today, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II), arrived in Daura with his entourage to meet with former President Muhammadu Buhari. Before departing the city, the former President personally escorted the Ooni of Ife and his delegation to the historic Daura Emir’s Palace.”
This visit marks another significant gesture of respect and camaraderie between traditional rulers and political figures in Nigeria.
