Press Statement by Chief Omeire Imo State Chairman ADC
On this October 1st, 2024, Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) faithfuls across Imo State gather in solemn reflection, remembering the brazen daylight robbery of democracy that occurred during the September 21st Imo council elections.
We stand firmly in our commitment to electoral reform, good governance, and social justice. The blatant disregard for ISIEC’s electoral guidelines has left many disenfranchised and disillusioned. The issuing of certificates of return on September 23rd, contrary to the stipulated dates of September 2nd to 4th, is a glaring violation of the rules.
The ADC demands that the judiciary takes swift and decisive action against ISIEC for this blatant disregard of their own guidelines. We urge the courts to uphold the law and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

– Electoral Reform: Immediate overhaul of the electoral process.
– Good Governance: Transparency and accountability.
– Social Justice: Protection of citizens’ rights.
– Economic Relief:
– Reduce fuel price.
– Reduce the price of a bag of rice from N120,000.
– Reduce the price of a bag of beans.
– Reduce electricity tariffs.
– Reduce transportation fares.
– Reduce the overall cost of living.
