On Saturday morning, Russian troops targeted a medical center in Sumy, a city in northeastern Ukraine. As the facility was being evacuated, Russia struck again, killing nine people in total.
According to Ukrainian officials, 86 patients and 38 staff members were inside the hospital at the time. “The first attack killed one person and damaged the ceilings of several floors of the hospital,”Ukrainian Interior Minister, Ihor Klimenko, said on Telegram. Even as the occupants mobilized to evacuate the premises, Russian forces repeated their attack, killing five more people, Klimenko said.
