…Assures of commissioning Eberi-Omodu road in next 2 months

…Says Rivers is peaceful

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has said the State is not under any kind of Police siege as speculated by detractors of his administration.

Governor Fubara stated this after inspecting the Eberi-Omodu road in Omuma local government area of the State on Thursday.

The governor noted that the road initiated by his administration would have been part of the projects commissioned in his one year anniversary, but he has to extend the project from its initial 8 kilometers to 14.6 kilometers to link Abia State.

While assuring that in the next two months the road would be commissioned, Gov. Fubara emphasised that his visit is to also assure Nigerians that Rivers State is peaceful as against negative media reports about the State being under Police siege.

“You can see that we are moving about inspecting projects as against what you see in media reports that Police are everywhere and that we don’t move about anymore.”

“We are not under siege, the State is free and if at all there is any problem in the State, I know quite alright that Nigerians know where it is coming from and not from us.”

He reiterated that he is peace loving and promised to sustain the prevailing peace for the betterment of the people of Rivers State.
