Super Eagles Qualify For 2025 AFCON
Nigeria has successfully qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ekwutosblog reports that the development was made possible by Libya’s narrow 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, where Saad Mohamed scored the decisive goal in the 84th minute.
This outcome not only bolstered Libya’s chances of qualifying but also confirmed Nigeria’s spot in the upcoming tournament.
As three-time African champions, Nigeria will be making their 21st appearance in the AFCON, scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen scored in the second half to ensure a 1-1 draw against the Benin Republic during the AFCON qualification process.
With a total of 11 points in Group D, the Super Eagles have secured a top position in the standings.
They will conclude their qualification campaign with a match against Rwanda in Uyo on Monday.
