Relations between Vice President Harris’s team and President Biden’s White House have been increasingly strained in recent weeks, 10 people familiar with the situation told Ekwutosblog.
Biden’s team wants Harris to win. But many of Biden’s aides remain hurt by the president’s rejection of his re-election bid, and are still adjusting to the role of supporting the campaign.
“They’re too much into their feelings,” one close Harris ally said of the president’s team — a sentiment echoed by some White House aides.
For example, last week, Joe Biden gave an impromptu press conference in the White House briefing room as Harris was preparing to hold an event in Michigan, which meant she received less television coverage.
A person involved in Harris’ campaign told Axios, “The White House is lacking someone who is thinking first and foremost about how things affect the campaign.”
