Peter Obi Calls for Release of Nnamdi Kanu and Other Detainees

Appeal to President Tinubu: Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has urged President Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and other freedom fighters.

Reason for the appeal: Obi made this appeal due to the court’s decision to grant bail to Kanu, emphasizing the need for the government to obey the rule of law.

Concern for insecurity:  Obi also expressed concern about the country’s insecurity, calling on leaders to work together to address the issue.

Release of other detainees:  Obi’s appeal extends to other freedom fighters and #EndSARS protesters still in detention, emphasizing the need for their release.

Democracy and rule of law: Obi stressed that Nigeria is a democratic country and should act accordingly, releasing those detained for exercising their right to free speech and peaceful protest.
