The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, accused of murdering Super TV CEO Michael Usifo Ataga, is set to resume on October 15, 2024, at the Lagos High Court.

Ojukwu, a University of Lagos student, is charged alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and Adedapo Quadri with conspiracy, murder, and theft.

The prosecution has called 11 witnesses so far, including forensic expert Dr. Richard Somiari, who testified that DNA evidence links Ojukwu to the crime scene.

Somiari revealed that the DNA blood sample found on Ojukwu’s red dress matched the victim’s DNA, but did not match Ojukwu’s or other suspects.

The court has adjourned until October 15 for further proceedings.

The case has garnered significant attention due to the brutal nature of the crime and the defendant’s alleged involvement.

The prosecution is seeking justice for the late Michael Usifo Ataga, who was found stabbed to death in his Lagos apartment in June 2021.
